We're very pleased to announce that Georgia, a Health Improvement Practitioner (HIP), will be joining our team from 26 May!
As a HIP, Georgia is a registered health practitioner who can provide you with support for a range of concerns regarding your hauora tinana (physical health), hauora hinengaro (mental health), hauora wairua (spiritual health), and hauora whānau (family health) - see the poster below.
A HIP cannot diagnose conditions, prescribe medications, or provide long-term therapy or counselling, and they are also not a replacement for seeing your GP, nurse practitioner, or specialist. Rather, Georgia will be able to support you in navigating current concerns or difficulties and in developing skills to help you move forward.

Appointments with Georgia are:
Free!
30-minutes long
Available by video only, not in-person
Available on Tuesdays (from 26 May)
Available only to our enrolled patients
At the moment, you will only be able to book an appointment with Georgia after first speaking with one of our GPs, our nurse practitioner, or one of practices nurses and getting their recommendation to make a HIP appointment. As the role of a HIP is new to our practice, this is to help ensure that our patients are booking with Georgia for appropriate concerns.
