Update on new GP, Dr Christopher Veal

We announced back in August that a new GP, Dr Christopher Veal, would be joining us soon

Dr Veal has recently moved with his husband to Te Whanganui-a-Tara from Chicago, and he is currently working through the process of becoming registered to practice medicine in Aotearoa NZ. You can read more about him on our Meet the Team page here!

It's looking likely that Dr Veal will be able to start working with us as a GP from mid-late February 2026

Both Dr Veal and the rest of our TTMC team had been hopeful that he could be up and running with us sooner! But it's quite a process to get registration to practice medicine in Aotearoa NZ, and we are bound to the administrative powers that be. And with the end of the year fast approaching, Hui-tanguru (February) is just around the corner!

For those on his wait-list, we will of course be in touch as soon as we can start enrolling patients with Dr Veal.

And for anyone visiting the clinic over the next couple of months, you may see Dr Christopher Veal floating around! Although he is not able to practice medicine until he is fully registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand, he'll likely be in and out of the clinic to learn the ropes of healthcare in Aotearoa and to familiarise himself with our Practice Management System and processes.
