Covid-19 vaccinations in the practice: watch this space!

We intend to start offering Covid-19 vaccines in the practice in the coming months

We don't have an exact date yet, as our staff are still working through the process of getting the clinic set-up as a Covid-19 vaccinating clinic, but we are hoping to be able to start giving Covid-19 vaccines within the next couple of months.

Watch this space: we'll post another update on our website and Facebook page once we're all set up and have Covid-19 vaccines in stock, and we'll also have posters up in the practice.

We know a lot of our patients are keen to get their flu and Covid-19 vaccines at the same time, and we hope that offering Covid-19 vaccinations in the practice will help you stay up to date on these and make it easier for you to access both.

Why haven't we been giving Covid-19 vaccinations before?

  • Giving Covid-19 vaccines isn't as straightforward as other vaccines. Clinicians who are already authorised vaccinators require additional training to administer Covid-19 vaccines, plus some of the vaccines come in multi-dose vials, meaning a certain number need to be given within the same day to avoid wastage.

  • Special training is also required for ordering and managing inventory of Covid-19 vaccines.

  • The vaccines have short expiration dates, which adds an additional layer of difficulty in managing stock and avoiding wastage.

  • Additionally, clinics must be verified as Covid-19 vaccination facilities.

We have decided that it's time to undergo the Covid-19 vaccination facility set-up process and are pleased to be able to offer Covid-19 vaccines to you soon!
